Public transport to the Deutsches Museum

From the MUC Airport

Take the S-Bahn (S8) to the station Isartor. Trains depart every twenty minutes between 4:04AM and and 1:24AM. The journey takes 36 minutes:

Fares:

• A Single Trip ticket from the airport to Isartor (or any other S-Bahn station located in the city centre) costs €11.60
• Should you wish to purchase a Streifenkarte (Stripe Ticket – €14.00 for 10 Stripes), you will need 8 stripes (equivalent to €11.20) for the same journey.

From Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof)

Take the S-Bahn (any line) in the direction Ostbahnhof to the station Isartor (3 stops). 650m walk to the Deutsches Museum.
Fares:

• A Single Trip ticket costs €2.90.
• With a Streifenkarte (Stripe Ticket – €14.00 for 10 Stripes), you will need 2 stripes (equivalent to €2.80) for the same journey.

Directions to the Alter Seminarraum, Bibliotheksbau, Deutsches Museum

Before the main doors of the Bibliotheksbau open at 9am, participants must enter through the Hauptpforte, situated around the corner of the Bibliotheksbau (see image below). From there, follow the signs directing you to the wing of the Forschungsinstitut and down the hallway to the Alter Seminarraum.
